Goodbye

Oh Xanga.  I think that it is time that I somehow brought you to a close.  You were so good to me.  It's crazy to think how awesome you were in your heyday.  Xanga WAS the means of communication for so long.  And it brought so much joy to be able to post something and have your friends comment back on it.

I started you on August 30, 2004.  At first, it was just so that I could have the ability to post comments on other peoples sites.  And then I got more addicted.  And more addicted.  My first REAL post was on October 17, 2004, in which I summarized the events of a weekend long forgotten.

I read through some of those entries just now.  Life sure is different.

Xanga died for many reasons.  Myspace and Facebook are probably the biggest reasons.  There was such a big exodus all of a sudden.  There is nothing wrong with those sites.  Facebook is always amazing.  But they don't foster the same amount of thoughtfulness and community that Xanga did.  It was a special thing.  Those sites weren't the only thing that made Xanga die off.  I started journaling, and that took the place of Xanga in my life.  Journaling is a wonderful thing.  Do it if you don't.

Xanga.  I will love you forever for what you were.  But it is time.  And this blog needs to be ended.

So, thanks for the good time Xanga. :)

Work

I got a job. Yay!

I’m working a temp agency called Tri-Starr Staffing. It’s a cool thing. Basically companies call Tri-Starr if they need work for a week or so, and then Tri-Starr calls me, and I work for the company. w00t. It’s been fun so far. This week I’m at a bank-type place called Sterling Financial Corporation. I’m filing papers and moving boxes and stuff. It’s kind of boring, but not too bad. The days go fast. I have to get all dressed up with a tie and stuff. I’m a working man after all. Ugh.

So what’s up internet? How have you been? Good. That’s what I thought.

Just a random update on my life.

Surgery

Woah, how’s everyone doing?

Long time not post, or so it feels.

Life’s going better. It’s boring, but better.

I got surgery today on my tongue. There was this bump thing on it that had been there for a couple of months, and the doctor didn’t think it was serious, but thought it should be removed. So I went in today thinking it was going to be a check up and then found out the procedure was happening today!

I took a before and after shot for ya’ll:

Before and After

It was really weird. I was expecting it to be a long surgery, but it went super fast, and there was no blood at all. They had this special instrument that sealed off the wound as it was cut. Pretty cool.

Now it’s just just annoying because I have stitches in, which are gross. I can feel them against the roof of my mouth, and it feels weird. Luckily they come out in a week.

Right now

It’s nice to be back home in a lot of ways, but it’s really weird also. I still haven’t adjusted to living at home yet. It’s a completely different environment and way of living than I had become used to while traveling around Canada. I don’t see 30+ people everyday, I don’t stay up with people until 3AM every night, I don’t have to get up at 8 for breakfast each morning, and there aren’t constant activities going on.

I’ve had to relearn how to keep myself busy. Which is kind of weird.

I love being able to see my family everyday. It stinks though because my dad is at work and my sisters are at school. Which means that I only get to see them a fraction of the day. And by the time I see them, they’re all exhausted, and have little energy to do something random.

My friends rock. But some are return back to college and the rest are still in high school and can’t be out late and do crazy stuff because of limitations that come along with that.

I’ve just found myself in such a weird situation. One that I’ve never been in before. And I’m learning how to deal with it still.

So, I’m sorry to everyone if I haven’t been the me that you used to know. I’m still trying to understand who I am right now. And I guess that means being more introverted. And quiet. And introspective. That’s where I’m at.

Hey!

Hey!
What's up!  I'm back home!

IF, you would like to see a few pictures from my semester with OUTTATOWN (specifically 60 pictures that I've selected), you can go here by clicking on these words.

I have been quite tired recently, so I haven't been up to doing much, BUT, today I found out that the white bump on my tongue isn't cancer, it's just scar tissue. :)  Not that I thought it was cancer.  But it would have sucked if it had been.

I am hoping to form a band.  A band that consists of my sisters and I.  You should be prepared to be amazed and dazzled by our pure skill.  You have been warned.

Story Time!!!
So last night, my sisters and I, at 10 in the evening, decided that we were going to raid Barnes and Nobel, with the intention of buying the book Eragon.  We ran out to the car, popped in some crazy techno beats, and sped off to B&N.  After skillfully parking, we covertly walked into the store, as though we weren't on a mission.  We totally got by the front desk, and navigated our way to the "Dragons" section of the store.  Quickly, while no one was looking, we took a picture of ourselves as proof that we had made it there.

We then grabbed the book and moseyed up to the front desk, paying for the book.  Knowing that they could catch on to us at anytime, we briskly departed the store.  When we got into the parking lot, Molly pointed and shouted at us to look at the truck in front of us.  Covering every inch of the truck was army propaganda.  Trying to show our true patriotism, we decided to photograph it.

Luckily, the owner of the truck was stuck inside, so they didn't catch us.  We ran  back into the van and got pumped up on more techno music.

And that was the night.
